Dear Students,
Each of us needs to lead a meaningful life. Living an expansive and fulfilling life is not just
desirable but imperative. We are not solitary; our true strength lies in our social connections.
When we fully understand and engage with these connections, we become influential
individuals who contribute to our communities.
The core of the tenth-grade EQUBE session focuses on learning and discovering the intrinsic
value of our actions. This year is your opportunity to undertake a Social Action Project (SAP),
which is not just an assignment but a powerful platform for you to apply the principles of EQUBE
in line with your vision and values. This project is your chance to recognize that you have the
capability to effect change, whether in a community, a specific cause, or an individual's life.
The global upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has made it clear that we must
awaken our senses, heighten our environmental consciousness, and strengthen our humane
qualities. It is time to support one another in our quest to live healthily and sustainably. The call
to action is now—let's respond with determination and intention.
The CBSE council and the ICSE have provided specific guidelines to enhance empathy and
social consciousness through activities that align with the Social Action Project (SAP). Our
students from other schools have been engaged in this for over fifteen years. We believe that
SAP can encompass the following:
Social Action Project: Community action and awareness initiatives with action
School Action Project
In all of these projects, self-awareness and personal development play vital roles.
It is crucial to start by identifying a specific problem or opportunity within your community and
the broader society. Take time to reflect on the issues that either frustrate you—such as
inadequate public transportation, lack of educational resources, or environmental concerns—or
those that resonate with you personally, like food insecurity or social injustice. Consider what
profoundly motivates you to effect change.
Once you have pinpointed these challenges, immerse yourself in exploring potential solutions.
This may involve researching best practices, engaging with community members, or
brainstorming creative approaches to address the issue. Evaluate the potential impact of your
proposed solutions, considering factors such as feasibility, community involvement, and long-
term sustainability to ensure that your efforts lead to meaningful and lasting change.
We have categorized these projects into broad areas, allowing students to choose their desired
area of contribution and influence.
Health
Animal welfare, wildlife
Environmental protection
Special needs
Alternative therapies to better mental health and fitness (yoga, dance, music, art,
photography)
Fundraising and support for a purpose – developing visibility
Giving voice to the voiceless – promotional campaigns

Over the past 16 years, EFIL has implemented more than 750 diverse projects annually, fostering
innovation and entrepreneurship among students. Some projects have been honoured with the
prestigious Ashoka Young Entrepreneur Award and have had the opportunity to present their ideas
as TEDx speakers and represent their peers at prominent global youth forums and the National HRD
Network (NHRD), amplifying their voices and experiences on national and international platforms.
The Social Action Project (SAP) is crucial in enhancing students' academic portfolios. This
experience is particularly valuable when they craft their statement of purpose (SOP) for higher
education applications, as it showcases their practical skills and leadership potential.
Each project undergoes a thorough evaluation process, where the most outstanding project in each
class is awarded the School SAP Award. The runner-up also receives recognition for their impressive
work. Winners from all participating schools who excel in their projects will then have the opportunity to compete in the esteemed SAP Champions Award, which highlights and celebrates exemplary achievement in student-led initiatives. This recognition boosts their confidence and opens doors for further opportunities in their academic and professional journeys.
